Youth Rugby Program - Fall 2017

The Wrentham Youth Rugby program is for boys and girls from Kindergarten all the way through high school, and the fall season will begin on Sunday, September 17,2017.  The fall season is for skills and training and is a great time for new players to come and learn the game, and for returning players to build on their skill set in preparation for the competitive Spring/Summer Season.  Practices are on Sunday mornings from 9AM to 10:30AM, with the K thru 2nd grade players practicing from 9AM-10AM.  We play at the Rice Complex on Emerald Street on the fields located behind the basketball courts.

Our Coaching staff has completed USA Rugby Level 200 certification, and promote Safety as Rule #1.  Our players are coached to be respectful to one another and we strive to create an environment that lets them thoroughly enjoy the game as they learn the skills to be successful on the rugby pitch.

Under the guidelines of the Massachusetts Youth Rugby Organization (MYRO), the program involves a well thought out balance of skills training (basic rules, ball handling, passing, etc.). For safety sake, grades K thru 6th play flag only with no tackling introduced until 7th grade.   The High School age group is our newest team and we welcome everyone to come and check out America's fastest growing sport.

Registration for the fall season is $100 for the 10 week session.  We will begin on September 17th and finish the weekend before Thanksgiving.
