Upcoming Roadwork Planned
Wrentham will be contracting with several firms to perform roadwork this season, as follows:
Highway Rehabilitation Corporation and All States Asphalt Inc. will perform a surface treatment to the following streets:
- Creek Street from Franklin Street to Welcome Lane
- Winter Street from East Street to Lyndon Road
- North Street, Sheldon Road, Spring Street, Ash Street, and Beach Street all end to end
This process first heats the existing pavement, adds new emulsions, smooths out and repacks the surface giving new life to the existing pavement, hence recycling of the existing pavement. Then, approximately 30 days later, this surface is covered with a stone seal to provide a new riding surface.
Sealcoating Inc. to seal the cracks in the following streets: Shears St., George St., Park St., Chestnut Street, May Street, Burnt Swamp Road., Aldis Lane, Blake Road, Dana Drive, Fisher Road, Harvard Lane, Harvard Lane Ext., Jennifer Drive, Julie Drive, Laurie Lane, Martin Lane, Peters Lane, Philips Lane, and Wares Lane.
This is a pavement preservation technique aimed at keeping water out of the pavement structure. Water in the pavement, especially in the winter, reduces the pavement strength and integrity.
Murray Paving to rebuild Green Street from the power lines to High Street. This rebuilding will consist of reclamation of the existing pavement and substrata to a depth of approximately one foot, fine grading that material, and asphalt paving. This will provide an essentially new roadway.
The Department of Public Works thanks the residents in advance for their cooperation during this roadwork and any inconvenience they may experience. If you have any questions feel free to call the office at 508-384-5477.
