Recycling Do's and Dont's
General InformationCurbside recycling is provided to all Wrentham residents living in single-family dwellings or in apartments or condominiums with eight or fewer untis. Recycling is picked up every week on trash collection day. During holiday weeks, curbside collection is delayed one day. Set out your recycling by 7:00 a.m. and place it at least five feet from your trash. Recycling Checklist
- Recycle all materials included on the Recyclable Materials list
- Do not include Non-Recyclable Material
- Keep Glass, Metal & Plastic separate from Paper. Place in separate bins or bundle paper in paper bags.
- Rinse all containers
- Do not place recyclables in plastic bags
- Cardboard must be flattened and tied in bundles no larger than 2ft. x 2ft.
Paper Items- Newspapers/inserts
- Magazines, catalogs
- Paperboard, remove plastic liners (cereal, cracker boxes)
- Corrugated cardboard, flatten into 2x2 and tied or in bin
- Phone books
- Brown paper bags
- Junk mail
- Office paper
- Milk cartons and juice boxes
- No wax paper, plastic coated paper or plastic bags
Container Items- Glass bottles/jars, all colors & sizes
- Aluminum/tin/steel cans and lids
- Aluminum foil/pie plates
- All plastic containers labeled 1-7
- Aseptic juice boxes
- No broken glass or other items
- No cans or bottles containing paint, aerosol or hazardous materials
- No styrofoam, plastic bags
Recycling BinsRecycling bins are available for purchase at the Town Hall in the Selectman's Office. Residents may also use containers such as laundry baskets, milk crates, or other bins for their recycling. Trash barrels should not be used for recycling.
Reuse GuideA Reuse Guide is available on the website under the Forms and Documents heading and at the Library and Town Hall. The Guide lists orgainizations that accept donations of a wide variety of items. Many will pick-up. It provides information on everything from Appliances to Vehicles as well as other useful information on recycling.
