Steps to Submitting an Application
1. Fill out appropriate State Form (Notice of Intent, Request for Determination, or Abbreviated Notice of Resource Area Delineation) and Wetland Transmittal Fee Form to accompany the Abbreviated Notice of Resource Area Delineation and Notice of Intent Forms. (Request for Determination does not carry a fee)
2. File 2 copies of the application and 2 copies of the plan with the Conservation Office along with the Town's share of the filing fee (as determined in the Wetland Transmittal Fee Form). At the same time send a copy of the application and a copy of the plan to DEP Southeast Region Office at 20 Riverside Dr., Lakeville, MA 02347. A copy of the application and the State's portion of the Wetland Transmittal Fee should be sent to the address listed in that document.
3. Obtain a Certified Abutters List from the Assessors Office (508-384-5408) and notify all abutters in writing of the upcoming public hearing by hand delivery or by certified mail return receipt requested 10 days prior to the opening of the public hearing.
4. Call the Sun Chronicle at (508) 236-0382 and set up an account giving your name, address, phone number, credit card number, project location and reference the Wrentham Conservation Commission. This account will then be billed when the legal ad is faxed from the conservation office to the legal ad department. The legal advertisement must run at least 5 days in advance of the opening of the public hearing.
5. If above requirements have been met, the public hearing will open at the scheduled date and time. Testimony relating to the proximity of the project to resource areas, impacts to the resource area if any, and any mitigation measures proposed if necessary will be given.
6. A site visit will be conducted by the Commission following the opening of the public hearing.
7. The public hearing will be closed when all testimony has been given and question or concerns addressed.
8. An Order of Conditions will be issued following the close of the public hearing and after deliberations be the Commission.
